Gerry has been the Executive Director of the Foothills Advocacy In Motion Society since March of 2016. He is proud to lead a very strong and forward-thinking agency, one that works hard to improve the lives of adults with disabilities and their families in rural Alberta.
Gerry began his career at the Foothills A.I.M. Society in March of 2002 when he accepted the position of Employment and Day Services Manager at the High River branch. He was fortunate enough to play a role in the establishment of the new A.I.M. branches in Okotoks and Strathmore and has seen the agency grow from supporting 45 individuals in 2002 to more than 100 people currently. Prior to his employment at Foothills A.I.M. Society, he worked with an agency in Calgary. He always felt the draw to work in a rural setting.
When he’s not working, you’ll find him spending time with his wife, 10 kids and two grandchildren. He lists golf and camping as a couple of the activities that give him enjoyment.
Gerry enjoys this line of work because he finds it very rewarding and he’s always had a passion for helping improve lives. He feels privileged to work alongside many caring colleagues and feels it’s an honour to walk with the people supported by Foothills A.I.M. Society.
