Employing Adults With Developmental Disabilities

Foothills A.I.M. Society is a not-for-profit organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities through many avenues—one of those includes pairing them up with job coaches who help them find and sustain employment.

Some of their tasks include delivering newspapers, cleaning the local movie theatre, working at McDonalds and landscaping, just to name a few.

With the current economy, it’s been hard to find jobs for our individuals, just like it is for everyone else right now.

Part-time positions are usually cut first and unfortunately it’s adults with developmental disabilities who often work part-time hours.

The A.I.M. Society is asking local employers to keep them in mind when hiring new staff.

People with disabilities are devoted employees, they’re committed and they genuinely love their jobs.

Each individual hired, will have a job coach who comes with them to help them with their day-to-day tasks.
